San Juan College issued the following announcement on Oct. 20.
Ghosts and goblins, get your Halloween costumes ready for San Juan College’s first virtual costume contest. Sponsored by San Juan College Student Engagement and Campus Life office and Professor Maloney’s Business Management class, the Virtual Costume Contest “Scare-O-Rama” is a free, virtual event for all ages.
Registration for the costume contest begins Friday, October 23 at 12 p.m. and the deadline for all costume submissions is Sunday, November 1 at 11:59 p.m.
This year’s registration, rules, consent forms and directions on how to upload your photo or video can be found online or by visiting San College’s Facebook page for more details. Children participating under the age of 18 will require parent’s permission.
Prizes will be given in six categories. Categories include most scary, pet, duo, group/family, superhero, and dance video. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 4 at 12 p.m.
“This virtual event is a great opportunity for children and families in our community to enjoy a fun and safe Halloween,” says Amanda Robles, San Juan College Director of Student Engagement and Campus Life. “Our office and the Business Management class has worked together to create this event for all of those who love dressing up at Halloween.”
The costume contest is free, open to the public and is a family friendly event.
