"How Can I Keep from Singing"
A San Juan College Choir Production During a Time of Uncertainty
The San Juan College Choirs will present a virtual choir concert entitled "How Can I Keep from Singing". The concert will include a variety of genres and styles of vocal music. Members of the choral ensembles have prepared and recorded folksongs, such as How Can I Keep from Singing, All My Trials, and The Parting Glass. From the Broadway stage, the choirs will perform selections including "Children Will Listen" from Sondheim's Into the Woods and the Greek chorus introduction from Little Shop of Horrors. From the contemporary genre, the choirs will feature Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of Over the Rainbow and Simon and Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair. The men will be featured on a Barbershop arrangement of Stand by Me. The choir will also get into the spirit with assorted holiday selections.
We hope you can join us to celebrate our efforts to keep singing during these trying times.
What a privilege and pleasure it is to sing together!
