Of the 6,530 people living in Aztec in 2019, 56.7 percent (3,701) were women and 43.3 percent (2,829) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the NW New Mexico News.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 1,979-to-1,695. In the 65 and over age range, there were 619 females and 455 males.
