Yes, a strict burn ban is still in effect. No, calling San Juan County Communications Authority to ask our dispatchers why you can't burn isn't going to change that.
Burn restrictions for all unincorporated parts of San Juan County are in effect per restrictions sent from the NM State Forester. They will remain in place until weather conditions improve drastically. While winds may be calm and it may not seem that bad, the restrictions remain because, as we all know, weather in New Mexico can change in a split second.
