UPDATE 8:10 pm: Farmington Police Department has also been made aware of a second school threat circulating Snapchat this evening towards Hermosa Middle School. Our officers are working diligently with area law enforcement, school district, and community partners on this investigation. Farmington High School and Hermosa Middle School will have increased law enforcement presence in and around the schools tomorrow, Jan. 17, 2023.

ORIGINAL POST: Farmington Police Department and Administrators from Farmington High School have been made aware of a school threat made for Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, circulating on social media. Officers from the Farmington Police Department are actively investigating this threat that was sent to an Instagram group chat. The threat has warranted an increased law enforcement presence in and around the School throughout the day on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023.

The Farmington Police Department would like to thank the public for their ongoing vigilance and reporting of suspicious activity. We will continue to work with the school district and parents to ensure the safety of all our children.
