City of Espanola issued the following announcement on Mar. 18.
Governor Lujan Grisham has ordered all recreational facilities to close Thursday, March 19, 2020, of which to include the Recreation Center, Española Public Library and B.V.Q.A. Martinez Senior Center. Senior Center meals will be available as carry-out only. Please call (505) 747-6028 or (505) 747-6027 to place meal orders. Lucero Center employees will be temporarily relocated to various departments within the City, until further notice. The City of Española is working to ensure the safety and well-being of our community and staff.
Please be advised that the City Hall lobby will be closed until further notice. Bill payments can be made over the phone or online at (505) 747-6045/ (505) 747-6046/(505) 747-6047; xpressbillpay.com. Payments may be left in the Utilities drop box at the main entrance. Disconnects will not take place through Monday, April 20, 2020. Pursuant to §300-72 (B): Penalty for delinquency; Payment agreements may be made with the City through the City Manager or his designee. All agreements must be made in writing. The City Manager or his designee may make reasonable accommodations to accept payment over a period of time, but may not make any accommodations or waive any fees set forth in by this chapter. For any customers requiring additional assistance will be accommodated by appointment only, please use phone information above for scheduling purposes.
Lastly, the Española Fire / Rescue (EFR) will not be issuing out new burn permits for the next 30 days, effective March 17th through April 17th.
