The Central Consolidated School District is initiating a new program designed to help high school students plan their futures. The initiative, called Next Step Plans, targets students in grades 9 through 12, offering a structured approach to exploring career interests and setting educational goals.

Parent involvement is a key element of the program. For students under 18, a signed acknowledgment from a parent or guardian is necessary. Parents are urged to review the plan with their students and ensure the form is signed and returned.

Each high school within the district will manage the distribution and collection of these forms according to their own schedules. Parents and students will be informed about the procedures, which could include receiving hard copies or digital versions and instructions for returning the forms. The deadline for returning completed forms is generally early April.

The district emphasizes the importance of timely submission and is coordinating with high schools to facilitate this process. Cooperation from parents in reviewing, signing, and ensuring forms are returned by school-specific deadlines is encouraged.

For further inquiries, parents are advised to reach out to their student’s high school counseling department.
