On National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we remember and are thankful for all the law enforcement officers that have paid the ultimate sacrifice in protecting their communities.
According to preliminary data provided by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, 458 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty in 2021, an increase of 55% over the previous year.
We will never forget these brave men and women who leave family members behind, and we salute the officers who continue to carry on the tradition of protecting and serving the citizens of this great Nation.
