It’s very disheartening to hear or read the negative posts that have been written about our office.
The Rio Arriba Sheriff’s Office has no problem addressing any issues within Rio Arriba County. Should anyone ever have issues or concerns please call 505- 753-3329. Sheriff Merrifield or any of the commanders will gladly assist you.
For the record (which can be confirmed via dispatch logs) Rio Arriba Deputies did go to the location of State Road 76 and did make contact with the male individual throwing rocks near businesses- even though it’s in Santa Fe County. Deputies requested Espanola Police Department because of the jurisdiction and “Yes” Espanola Police Department did respond and handled the call.
