Adult Stock and SuperStock Kart Class Championship comes down to the wire for Farmington NM drivers Beau Blakley and Regan Tafoya.
Aztec, NM – September 15, 2022 - The 2022 Kart Kanyon Speedway racing season draws to a close on Championship night, Saturday September 24 at 7:00 PM.
Class champions for Adult Stock and SuperStock will be determined that night as the overall points for both classes will be settled based on drivers finishes. The Stock class currently sees a 2-way tie for the points lead between Beau Blakely and Howard Cooper, with the top 11 drivers in the field with a mathematical chance to claim the championship.
In the SuperStock class, Farmington, NM driver Regan Tafoya holds the number one spot based on his two wins in this class this year, but finds himself in a 3-way tie with Randy Calcote of Flora Vista, NM and Chad Tenski of Farmington, NM. 4th Place driver Mike Arnold of Farmington sits two points back with a mathematical chance at the championship in this class.
Youth driver Bowyer Carley of Farmington NM, has already locked up the Youth Flat Kart championship over his brother Brayton Carley. The younger Carley remains in a battle for second in the youth standings with Wyatt Calcote
Regular kart classes at Kart Kanyon range from children's 160cc Quarter midget and youth 212cc Cage Karts, 212cc Adult Stock karts and Super Stock/Limited Modifieds that average 52 mph around the 1/5th mile clay oval.
Located 2 miles east of Aztec NM off of NM Highway 173, Kart Kanyon provides exciting racing for competitors and affordable entertainment for spectators as entry into the grandstands is free, and pit passes for non-racers are $10 per person.
