Drug Enforcement Administration

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will provide the public the opportunity to rid their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Both Walgreens locations in Farmington, NM (701 E. 20th Street and 4221 E. Main Street) will have someone available to take possession of these prescription drugs. The following locations are available for individuals to dispose of their prescription drugs on a regular basis: Kirtland Substation, Lee Acres Substation, Sheriff’s Office, Farmington Police Department, Bloomfield Police Department, and the Aztec Police Department.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.
