It’s with a heavy heart that we inform our community that our SJCSO family has lost one of our own. Reserve Deputy Jeff Manning passed away this past weekend from a medical emergency. Our staff escorted him home from Denver on Sunday and have provided a 24-hour guard while his family prepares to lay him to rest.
Jeff Manning has served as a Reserve Deputy for the past 6 years, volunteering hundreds of hours per year to help keep our community safe. In the most recent years, he has been vital in helping fill gaps in our Civil Division, traveling thousands of miles assisting with prisoner transports.
The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office offers its deepest condolences to the Manning family. They invite those that wish to pay their respects to the funeral service. The funeral will be held Friday, November 18 at 11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kirtland. (10 Rd 6523 Kirtland, NM)
“Deputy Manning could always be counted on when we needed him, regardless of the time or place. He was a great man and a highly respected leader in our community.” ~ Sheriff Shane Ferrari
