The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office had the privilege to honor an American Hero who was instrumental in our victory in World War II. We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Samuel Sandoval, who was as a Navajo Code Talker, serving five combat tours before being honorably discharged in 1946. As a way to thank Mr. Sandoval for his service to our country and community, our deputies parked along the procession route, flashing red and blues and showed our respect.
We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Sandoval’s family and friends. May he rest in peace.
