Friday was the last day on call for County Fire 3, Deputy Chief Christopher J. Cardin. He is retiring and heading to greener pastures where the pager probably won’t go off in the middle of the night.
There are perks to working for a fire department for 26 years, and since we took away his department vehicle, he had the honor of a ride home courtesy of San Juan County Fire & Rescue - District 2 Flora Vista, the district which he started volunteering.
