SJCFR is sending this crew on Engine 31 to the Cerro Pelado fire in the Santa Fe National Forest about 7 miles East of Jemez Springs. The fire is just under 4,700 acres and is 0% contained.
This is the fourth deployment of San Juan County Fire and Rescue’s Wildland Team this year and the third deployment for Engine 31. There are currently seven wildfires burning around New Mexico that are less than 90% contained. We are proud to be able to support our fellow New Mexicans in fighting the fires that are burning around our state.
