The San Juan County Regional Officer Involved Shooting Task Force is investigating a shooting of a man in the Wild Horse Valley area.
Around 10:25 am on June 15, a regional law enforcement task force contacted a man wanted for several felony charges outside a house on Road 5758. The task force was working cooperatively to arrest a man on seven outstanding felony warrants and consisted of law enforcement officers from the United States Marshal’s Service, Farmington Police Department, and San Juan County Sheriff’s Office. During the interaction with the man, a Deputy US Marshal fired. Officers immediately rendered aid to the man and called for paramedics. The man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no injuries to law enforcement officers or any other community members.
