On January 13, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office held our annual awards banquet where we celebrate the great work of our staff. Over the course of a few weeks, we will highlight some of these awards and the staff that earned them.
Today we are acknowledging our Deputy of the Year! The Deputy of the Year award is a very special honor because the nominations come directly from the deputies themselves. This year that award goes to Deputy Mike Nelson!
Deputy Nelson is an excellent addition to the Sheriff’s Office family. His hard work and dedication have greatly benefited the citizens of San Juan County. Deputy Nelson, thank you for your hard work! As you can see, it hasn’t gone unnoticed by your peers.
We would also like to thank Farmers Insurance Manchester Agency for donating $500 to our Deputy of the Year as their way to give back and help our agency learn and become better. Deputy Nelson will be able to use this credit towards additional training and bring it back to share it with his fellow deputies.
