On January 13, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office held our annual awards banquet where we celebrate the great work of our staff. Over the course of a few weeks, we will highlight some of these awards and the staff that earned them.
Today we are recognizing the DWI Deputy of the Year. The DWI Deputy of the Year award is given to the deputy with the most DWI arrests for the calendar year.
Deputy Salazar is hereby recognized as DWI Deputy of the Year. He has made arresting DWI offenders a major priority in addition to his normal patrol duties. In 2022, Deputy Salazar made 24 DWI arrests. Great work to Deputy Salazar and his commitment to combating intoxicated driving and making San Juan County a safer place.
