Today units responded to reports of a brush fire, that ended up being a large controlled burn. As we roll into the spring months, keep an eye out for our burn recommendations! The recommendations are posted every day, advising if burning is allowed that day or not. Here are just a few things to remember on our burn days…
1. Always call for a burn permit before burning.
2. Burn vegetative material only.
3. Keep the fire at least 50 feet away from any structures and power lines.
4. Be aware of wind conditions.
5. Have a water source available for immediate use.
6. Do not leave the fire unattended.
7. Call 911 if the fire begins to get out of control.
